Army Helicopter Makes Unplanned Landing in Colorado

An unexpected landing occurred involving a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter from Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The helicopter landed in a wooded area in the Colorado foothills, west of Denver. The incident took place on Tuesday, and four people were aboard at the time.

The Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the location was north of Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Two Army officials have also stated that initial reports suggest no one was hurt.

The Army identified the event as an ‘aviation mishap’ during a training operation. The helicopter is part of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment based at Fort Campbell.
