Baltimore Ravens Signal Return of Ja’Kobi Lane with Roster Changes

1 day ago 0

The Baltimore Ravens announced important roster changes on Tuesday, suggesting that rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane could soon return to action. The team released wide receiver Chris Moore from their active roster and removed Xavier Guillory from the practice squad.

Lane, who has been on injured reserve since suffering a fractured wrist in Week 1, might rejoin the team this week. The expectation is for Moore to replace Guillory on the practice squad, allowing Lane to be activated on the Ravens’ 53-man roster.

Ravens head coach Jesse Minter mentioned the possibility of Lane playing in the upcoming Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns.

“Ja’Kobi’s done a really good job,” Minter stated on Monday. “When you’re on IR, how much can you do physically to be ready to play that first week back? He’s in a real good place from a conditioning standpoint. We’ll see how that shakes out on Wednesday.”

During training camp, Lane attracted attention and earned the confidence of quarterback Lamar Jackson. When he returns, Lane is expected to play a significant role in the Ravens’ passing game.

The game against the Browns is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
