Gronkowski noted, “He’s never really been injured before, so he doesn’t know truly what an injury is.” Commenting for OutKick during a New York City event with Bounty, Gronkowski recalled Williams’ enthusiasm after his stellar Week 1 performance.

Gronkowski speculated that Williams believed he was facing a Grade 3 hamstring strain, which typically causes significant distress. “It looked like it was a Grade 3, and Grade 3 I understand you’re like, ‘Oh my God.’” He explained that Williams’ intense passion for the game contributed to his disheartened reaction.

With an extensive career marked by injuries, Gronkowski discerned the difference between a lengthy recovery after a Grade 3 injury and the reality of a shorter week-to-week status.

As the Bears consider Williams’ status for Week 3, head coach Ben Johnson classified him as week-to-week. Meanwhile, backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, in concussion protocol, practiced on Saturday, providing hope for his participation against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

If Bagent cannot play, Case Keenum, a seasoned third-string quarterback, may start for Chicago during the primetime Monday Night Football matchup.
