The Dallas Wings will relocate to downtown Dallas next season, opting to play all home games at the American Airlines Center, the same arena where the NBA’s Mavericks play. The announcement came from Wings officials on Monday.
This move to the 20,000-seat arena is temporary. In 2024, the WNBA team signed a 15-year use agreement with Dallas to eventually play in a renovated Dallas Memorial Auditorium, which will have a capacity of about 10,000 seats. Construction delays at this venue, located near the American Airlines Center, have postponed the move.
Today’s announcement marks a pivotal step in the team’s relocation to Dallas as well as our continued growth as a professional sports enterprise,said Greg Bibb, Dallas Wings CEO and managing partner.
Additionally, the team plans to open a new $55 million training facility in a Dallas neighborhood next April. Since relocating to North Texas in 2016, the Wings have hosted games and training sessions at the College Park Center on the University of Texas at Arlington campus. This facility, which accommodates 6,251 people, is located approximately 20 miles from downtown Dallas.
The Wings played two regular-season games at the American Airlines Center in 2025, including a victory against the Chicago Sky. They also have two more home games scheduled there this season.
