Darius Rucker took center stage on Night 2 of WWE SummerSlam in Minneapolis, performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at U.S. Bank Stadium. Fans packed the venue, eager to see the multi-Grammy Award-winning artist set the tone for the event with his powerful rendition.

Rucker, who has a deep-rooted love for professional wrestling, appeared on the pre-show to express his long-time fandom. He recalled watching classic matches, including the iconic face-off between Dusty Rhodes and “Superstar” Billy Graham. Demonstrating his enthusiasm for wrestling memorabilia, Rucker revealed he owns an authentic Ric Flair robe, which he considers a prized possession.

His passion for wrestling storytelling is evident. Rucker emphasized the allure of wrestling lies in its narratives. “The matches are wonderful and great but it’s the stories,” he said. “You get behind somebody. You understand where the story’s going, and the times they get it right is the most satisfying thing in the world.” His involvement in the event extended beyond the anthem, as he joined Corey Graves and Peter Rosenberg at the WWE Countdown, adding to the night’s excitement.
