Gotham FC Moves to Etihad Park in New York City

Gotham FC has announced a major move, shifting its home games from New Jersey to Etihad Park in Queens, New York City. Carolyn Tisch Blodgett, the club’s governor, emphasized the significance of playing in such a renowned sports city. “There’s no better sports stage than New York City,” she stated.

The relocation aligns with the vision set by the new ownership, which includes the Tisch family, co-owners of the New York Giants. This decision marks a new chapter for Gotham FC, aiming to become one of the best sports teams globally. Blodgett noted the team’s on-field success, having won the National Women’s Soccer League Championship in 2023 and 2025.

Plans for a new stadium in Willets Point, Queens, are underway, with an expected completion for the 2028 season. This marks a shift from the current venue in Harrison, New Jersey, at Sports Illustrated Stadium, a shared space with the New York Red Bulls of MLS. However, the club remains rooted in New Jersey with a new dedicated training facility in Whippany.

Blodgett highlighted the importance of establishing permanent facilities for the team. She explained that women’s teams often operated in borrowed spaces, emphasizing the need for stability. “We are always a tenant, always kind of working around other schedules,” she said.

The new training facility and stadium represent a unified vision to provide a lasting home for Gotham FC. “We will have a best-in-class training facility in New Jersey and a best-in-class home gameday experience at Etihad Park in New York,” Blodgett added.
