Monet Mazur’s home in the Hollywood Hills was the target of a home invasion on Saturday night. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a radio call about a ‘hot prowl burglary’ before 11:30 p.m. The suspects were reportedly still present at the location at that time.
Authorities confirmed that there was at least one individual inside the home during the attempted entry. However, the suspects fled before officers arrived at the scene.
‘All-American’ actress Monet Mazur saw three individuals on security cameras. The individuals wore black clothing and ski masks. Mazur confronted them, causing them to flee, according to The Post.
Images from the scene appeared to show pepper spray on the doormat outside the two-bedroom, $1.5 million property. TMZ reported that when the suspects allegedly tried to open the front door, the alarm was triggered, prompting them to run off. No confrontation occurred and nothing was stolen.
The officers searched Mazur’s property after the suspects fled. However, they did not locate anyone. No description of the suspects is available. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and a burglary report was completed.
Mazur’s representatives did not respond to requests for comment at the time of reporting.
This incident is part of a broader trend of celebrity homes being targeted. Last month, Olympian Simone Biles shared that her Chicago home was targeted. Three suspects allegedly stole her Porsche GTS, which was later recovered.
Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, increased their home security by acquiring a Doberman Pinscher.
US Army veteran Stephen Scott, from Scott’s K9, emphasized that professionally trained protection dogs can offer additional security. Scott stated that protection dogs detect intrusions quickly, providing crucial time for homeowners to react.
‘They hear and smell intrusions before you do,’ Scott explained. ‘This buys you time to secure your family, call for help, or take protective measures.’
Scott also highlighted the importance of digital privacy. Homeowners inadvertently reveal their absence by sharing schedules and locations online. He advised being cautious about what is shared publicly to avoid increasing vulnerability.
