A substitute teacher from Indiana, Cassidy Carter, has been sentenced to two years in jail for sending nude images to a 14-year-old middle school student. Her sentencing follows her guilty plea to two counts of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, as reported by WXIX-TV. She received a credit of two days in her sentence.
Carter faced an initial charge of child solicitation. However, a change occurred when the victim relocated out of the area and opted not to be involved in the case, according to Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.
Carter sent the images to the teenager while employed as a substitute teacher at South Dearborn Community School Corporation. The incident came to light in December 2023, when the student reported the situation to a school resource officer, who then informed the principal.
The teenager stated he became acquainted with Carter through Snapchat. During their interactions, Carter sent him nude photos after every shower, typically late at night. She allegedly also expressed romantic feelings for him. Investigators discovered the images and numerous messages on Carter’s phone.
