Joe Burrow’s Unexpected Post-Game Recovery

19 minutes ago 0

NFL quarterbacks endure significant physical challenges, frequently facing tough hits during games. This season, several top quarterbacks have suffered injuries early on. However, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals experienced a surprising turn of events.

Burrow reported that a hit during the game against the Houston Texans unexpectedly improved his condition. After the game, Burrow told Texans pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. that the Texans defense had helped “pop my rib back into place.” Anderson thought Burrow was joking and shared a laugh, but Burrow was serious.

I appreciate that,

Burrow told Anderson. The NFL released footage where a mic’d-up Burrow explained to teammates that a hit had realigned his rib. Talking to star receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Burrow revealed, “One of those hits popped my rib back in place.” Chase and others were surprised, prompting Burrow to repeat himself.

Teammates suggested that the hit delivered by Danielle Hunter might have been responsible. “He stood up and he said ‘Aaaarrgghhh,'” recounted receiver Tee Higgins. Burrow added, “Then afterward, it felt better.” A teammate jokingly remarked that Hunter had adjusted Burrow’s entire back, to which Burrow agreed.

Before the game, Burrow’s back issues had kept him on the injury report. Although his participation was questionable, he played successfully against the Texans. Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Monday that Burrow emerged from the game in “good” condition but remains unprepared for a full week of practice.

Bengals fans can find some relief knowing Burrow’s condition improved from these hits. His availability for the upcoming match against the Pittsburgh Steelers remains to be seen, based on his ongoing recovery. Yet, his health seems to be progressing positively.
