Media Pool Suspends Coverage of Trump After Banning CNN and Others

Members of the White House television pool, including FOX News Media, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News, have decided to suspend their pooled coverage of President Donald Trump. This move comes after he banned CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, accusing them of publishing “fake news.” CNN was set to serve as the White House pool representative at the time.

The pool members stated that the public has a significant interest in receiving accurate and independent information from the government. They emphasized that no administration should restrict a news organization due to dissatisfaction with its reporting.

Trump responded on Truth Social, arguing that he is not targeting free press but what he describes as “fake news.” He referred to it as a threat to national security that must be addressed.

The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America.
