A suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a transit worker outside a Chicago train station. The suspect, Chevazz Campbell, 37, is accused of killing Julian Mobley, 41, who worked as a janitor for the Chicago Transit Authority. The incident took place at the Damen Green Line station just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
Authorities stated that Campbell allegedly attacked Mobley by stabbing him in the neck after an argument broke out when Campbell entered the station without paying. Prosecutors claimed Campbell sprayed Mobley with mace twice before the stabbing occurred.
Campbell was reportedly under electronic monitoring with at least four previous probation violations due to curfew breaches at the time of the attack. The Chicago Police Department indicated that Campbell also allegedly robbed Mobley during the incident, leading to his arrest hours later.
