New York Giants Secure Quarterback Duo for Future

The New York Giants have committed to their current quarterback pairing, consisting of Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston, for the next three years. This decision ensures stability in the team’s quarterback position moving forward.

Dart, who maintains his role as the starting quarterback, has secured his place for at least the next four years through a rookie contract. He was selected 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, positioning him as a cornerstone for the team’s future plans. Winston, meanwhile, agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Giants, confirmed by Jordan Schultz.

As the primary backup for Dart, Winston’s presence provides the team with a reliable option should injuries occur. Last season, Winston demonstrated his capabilities, stepping in for two games where he completed 37 out of 66 passes for 567 yards, which included two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Throughout his career, Winston has secured substantial earnings. He first gained prominence by signing a $25.3 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being the number one pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Subsequent contracts included $38.6 million with the New Orleans Saints, $4 million with the Cleveland Browns, and $8 million with the Giants. His latest contract with the Giants holds a value of $13 million.

By locking in both Dart and Winston, the Giants carried only two quarterbacks on their active roster, reflecting a strategic choice to secure their talents for the foreseeable future.
