DeMarvion Overshown was penalized with a $9,527 fine for delivering a late hit on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. The incident occurred with 9:38 left in the first quarter and led to an unnecessary roughness penalty. This advanced New York by 15 yards during a drive that later resulted in a touchdown.
Donovan Ezeiruaku was fined $11,941 due to a facemask violation with 2:10 remaining in the fourth quarter. This infraction helped the Giants manage the clock effectively, securing their 28-20 win.
Javonte Williams incurred an $11,941 fine for taunting Giants safety Tyler Nubin after scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He held the ball towards Nubin upon crossing the goal line, leading to a 15-yard unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty. This was enforced on the extra-point attempt, which Brandon Aubrey missed, leaving Dallas trailing by eight points.
In an apology after the game, Williams remarked, “I don’t know why I did it. It’s just out of character. You don’t got to worry about that no more. The damage is already done. It’s my fault. I’m better than that. I’m a pro,” shared with NFL Network’s Jane Slater.
Overall, the Cowboys accumulated nine accepted penalties, while the Giants were assessed 11 penalties. The NFC East rivals combined for a total of 20 penalties in this matchup.
