Odell Beckham Jr.’s Potential Return to the Giants

3 weeks ago 0

Odell Beckham Jr. is closer to making a comeback in the NFL. After two years away from the game, the former All-Pro wide receiver will work out with the New York Giants. This move suggests a possible reunion with the team, as reported by Jordan Schultz.

The Giants have a gap to fill following the injury to wide receiver Gunner Olszewski, who suffered a torn Achilles over the weekend. Beckham Jr. played the first five years of his career with the Giants after being drafted 12th overall in 2014.

Beckham Jr.’s last NFL game took place on December 8, 2024, when he played for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins waived him five days later. If he joins the Giants for the upcoming season, it will mark 644 days since his last NFL appearance.

During his time with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. had limited impact, with nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games. Throughout his 10-year career, he has recorded 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. Most of his achievements happened during his initial stint with the Giants, where he accumulated 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 games.

Should the Giants sign Beckham Jr., he would join a receiving group that includes Malachi Fields, a 2026 third-round pick, Malik Nabers, a 2024 first-round pick, and Darnell Mooney, a free-agent acquisition. Last season, the Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game, averaging 204.4 yards. Their previous leading receiver, Wandale Robinson, has joined the Tennessee Titans after signing a free-agent contract.
