He expressed hope that other nations will adopt this terminology change, asserting ‘super intelligence’ is more accurate.
The concept of superintelligence, which surpasses human cognitive abilities, is seen as both a goal and a threat in AI development. Trump’s remarks followed a warning from a former Anthropic researcher about AI’s potential to endanger humanity.
Trump’s statements coincided with heightened concerns over the technology. Additionally, Senate Democrats criticized Trump for inadequately preventing China from accessing important American AI technologies, urging him to close loopholes enabling such access.
Meanwhile, bipartisan senators Raphael Warnock and Katie Britt have urged the Department of Justice to provide guidance on automated license plate readers to prevent misuse.
Melania Trump also announced the Fostering the Future Together initiative to empower children through technology and education, highlighting the nation’s entry into a technological revolution.
