President Trump presented the new red, white, and blue Boeing 747 jetliner, donated by Qatar, as the latest Air Force One. This aircraft replaces the previous presidential planes from 1990, which had maintenance issues.
“This plane was transformed into a flying White House at a level of luxury that nobody’s ever seen before,” Trump announced at Joint Base Andrews. The new hangar was constructed to accommodate this larger plane.
Trump emphasized that while the previous baby-blue planes were appreciated, it was time for a change. The new aircraft bears the words “United States of America” and reflects Trump’s intent to enhance key presidential symbols, like the Oval Office.
Trump announced plans for the new plane to lead a July 4 flyover of Washington, accompanied by F-22 and F-35 military jets.
