Severe Weather at Six Flags Over Georgia Results in Injuries

Four visitors needed hospitalization when a tree fell near the entrance of Six Flags Over Georgia during severe weather on Sunday.

The event occurred as strong storms passed through Austell, Georgia, according to Six Flags Over Georgia’s statement to Fox News Digital.

During severe weather that was impacting the park, medical staff and local EMS responded to four guests who were struck by a fallen tree near the park’s entrance.

The affected individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for further assessment. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area Sunday evening as the storm system moved across metro Atlanta.

While park officials have not released the names of the injured or provided updates on their conditions, a video on Facebook captured the scene. Fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles were present at the entrance as first responders tended to multiple downed trees and large branches.

The video’s creator mentioned that what began as a ‘relaxing day at Six Flags’ abruptly changed when the storm hit. They noted the tree collapsed near the exit walkway just as visitors were leaving and offered prayers for those injured.

Posts on Reddit depicted a large tree downed across part of the park, reportedly impacting the track of the Mindbender roller coaster. Though they noted the track did not seem bent, clarity on any potential damage was lacking.

Six Flags has yet to confirm if any rides or attractions were harmed or if park operations faced disruptions.

Previously, Fox News Digital reported another weather-related incident at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, where strong winds caused a metal cabana frame to collapse. This incident injured five people, sending them to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
