Steve Hilton Discusses California’s Challenges and Criticizes Xavier Becerra

1 week ago 0

Steve Hilton, running for governor in California, appeared on ‘Fox & Friends’ to address the growing issues of homelessness and drug addiction in the state. Hilton raised concerns about a takeover by the Democratic Socialists of America and criticized competitor Xavier Becerra. According to Hilton, the prevailing policies are detrimental to Californians, and he urged for immediate changes in leadership as the election approaches.

The California Post has officially endorsed Hilton in his gubernatorial race. His campaign stands out for its bold ideas, including a proposal to exempt Californians from paying taxes on income up to $150,000. This initiative has found some support even among Democrats.

Hilton’s Proposals and Critiques

Steve Hilton has been vocal about the impact of Democratic policies in California, labeling them as burdensome and costly to residents.

  • He advocates for reducing fuel prices by eliminating high gas taxes and costly energy policies, arguing these do not benefit the environment.
  • On housing, Hilton proposes expanding single-family homes instead of building high-rises.
  • He defends parental rights and the inclusion of girls in sports, challenging current transgender policies.

Despite challenges, Hilton’s campaign activity includes visiting areas like Skid Row and ‘fentanyl alley’ to highlight the negative outcomes of longstanding state policies.

Criticism of Xavier Becerra

Becerra, a Democrat, starts his campaign with limited popular support. Even allies from the Obama era hesitated over his candidacy. Despite decades in political roles, Hilton describes Becerra as unaccomplished, with a noteworthy lack of significant achievements.

Becerra’s record includes serving as a congressman and California’s attorney general, roles where Hilton claims he was ineffective.

California’s economy remains large on a global scale, yet poverty and homelessness rates are high. Businesses, including those in Hollywood, continue to leave the state, alongside significant job losses. The prolonged Democratic control of 16 years in California has resulted in significant issues, according to Hilton’s critique.

Hilton argues that current politics are driven by extreme views, division, and environmental disregard, allowing substantial wildfire damage annually. The state’s infrastructure is deteriorating, and much-needed educational improvements are lacking.

The upcoming election represents a chance for change, Hilton suggests. Voters are encouraged to consider this opportunity to shift the state’s direction, as the definition of insanity is repeating the same failures expecting different outcomes.
