Teen Charged with Murder After Man Pushed from Train in Chicago

A tragic incident occurred in Chicago last week when a man died after being pushed from a moving train. Authorities have charged a 15-year-old girl with murder in relation to his death.

Kyle Bickham, 29, was identified by his family as the deceased victim. He was pushed from a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train on September 7. According to police, three suspects attacked him on a Red Line train around 2:40 p.m. on Monday. He fell onto the electrified third rail and was subsequently struck by an oncoming train. He was declared dead at the scene.

The Chicago Police Department announced on Saturday that the girl faces first-degree murder charges. She also faces charges of mob action and felony assault against a transit employee. The police have not yet identified the other suspects, but the investigation continues.

Bickham’s family urges witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Who was Kyle Bickham?

According to his family, Bickham was returning home after working an overnight shift at an Amazon facility in Cicero. His mother, Latanya Bickham, spoke to ABC7, describing her son as hardworking and focused on building his future.

“He was trying to make an honest day’s living, and this is what happened,” she stated.

Chris Bickham Jr., Kyle’s brother, organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses. “Kyle was a son, brother, uncle, family member, and friend who was loved by so many,” he wrote on the page. “He was lighthearted, kind, caring, and always brought laughter to those around him. His passing was sudden, and our family is seeking help to give Kyle the homegoing he deserves and return him to the Lord.”

He added, “Kyle was loved. Kyle mattered. His light will never be forgotten.”
