The Tennessee Titans have faced a challenging start to their season with a record of 0-5. This has prompted an apology from CEO Burke Nihill to the team’s fans. Speaking for controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, Nihill acknowledged that the team’s performance has been lacking for some time.
“The first thing I would say to the fans is that we’re sorry,” Nihill shared in an interview with ESPN. “Everyone in this building feels a deep responsibility to deliver, and we’ve let our fans down. Football is meant to be fun.”
Currently, the Titans rank last in the league for points per game at 11.6. While their defense performs decently, allowing 21.8 points per game, they remain tied at 11th place in the NFL. Unfortunately, this has not sufficed to compensate for their struggling offense.
The Titans expected improvement under head coach Robert Saleh, who joined in the offseason, and with general manager Mike Borgonzi now in his second year. 2025’s No. 1 pick, Cam Ward, also raises hopes as he enters his sophomore season. However, the reality has been a continued losing streak, with the team having dropped 33 of their last 39 games.
Despite the challenges, Nihill maintains confidence in the team’s leadership. “I feel a sense of stability,” he stated. “I believe Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh will steer this team back to competitiveness. The organization fully supports them to advance and succeed.”
The Titans have consistently experienced changes in management, including the firing of a general manager or head coach annually since 2022. During this period, they have only secured six victories since 2023. Fans remain eager for a turnaround as the Titans face off against the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday.
