The Growing Use of AI Among Nurses

4 weeks ago 0

Artificial intelligence is playing a larger role in the healthcare industry, particularly among nurses. A recent survey involving more than 2,200 nurses found that around 44 percent are incorporating AI into their work tasks. This marks a significant increase from last year’s 15 percent.

A specific example includes Bojana Milekic from Mount Sinai hospital, who actively utilized AI to identify patients at high risk in June 2023. Her experience is reflective of the broader trend among nurses who are increasingly integrating AI in their routines.

Despite the rise in AI usage, the majority of surveyed nurses express concerns over its dependability. Over 80 percent consider AI insufficiently accurate for unverified use in healthcare settings. This sentiment underscores the necessity of human verification to ensure patient safety and effective care.
