2 days ago 0

The legacy of the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, has received a new tribute. A presidential library dedicated to him has opened in the Badlands of North Dakota, a region known for influencing Roosevelt’s dedication to conservation.

A Visit to the New Library

Senior arts correspondent Jeffrey Brown recently visited the newly opened library to provide coverage for PBS NewsHour’s arts and culture series, CANVAS. Brown has a vast career spanning over three decades with NewsHour, where he has served in various capacities, including co-anchor, studio moderator, and field reporter. His work has taken him both across the United States and around the world.

Brown’s Contributions to Arts and Culture Coverage

In his role as an arts correspondent, Brown has profiled numerous prominent figures in the arts, including writers, musicians, and actors. Some of his notable projects for NewsHour include the ‘Culture at Risk’ series, which focused on endangered cultural heritage in the U.S. and internationally. He also helped establish the NewsHour’s online ‘Art Beat’ and hosts a monthly book club, ‘Now Read This,’ in collaboration with The New York Times.

For this project, producer Mike Fritz played a critical role. Fritz, who serves as the deputy senior producer for field segments at PBS NewsHour, collaborated in bringing the story of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library to viewers.
