Firefighters are actively engaged in battling three wildfires in Spokane, Washington. The rapid spread of the flames led to the evacuation of approximately 5,000 homes on the city’s north side by Saturday.
As of Sunday morning, officials reported that more than 600 structures have been consumed by the fires. This figure is expected to rise as damage assessment teams begin their evaluations on the ground.
According to Benjamin Cossel, a spokesperson from the federal team managing the crisis, there is currently no clear distinction between how many of the burned structures are homes and how many are businesses.
