Florida Woman Survives Three-Week Kidnapping Ordeal

3 weeks ago 0

A Florida woman narrowly escaped a three-week kidnapping ordeal at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, culminating in a dramatic leap from a California balcony to save her life, law enforcement officials revealed. Floyd Stuck, 41, was apprehended on charges including kidnapping, aggravated stalking, and using a tracking device without consent, according to Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno.

The investigation began after the victim reported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office that Stuck attempted to place a tracking device on her vehicle. The officers soon uncovered a violent cross-country abduction that started in Southwest Florida.

Marceno stated, “This suspect is a calculated maniac and a very dangerous person.” Detectives worked tirelessly to end what he described as a “coast-to-coast terrorizing” of the innocent victim.

“Imagine being kidnapped, sitting next to a violent psychopath, wondering if every mile farther from home is where you will be killed.”

Authorities disclosed that Stuck persuaded the woman to join him on a supposed three-day trip to New York. Their journey began on April 20. However, Stuck’s behavior turned irrational, leading to a change in plans. He reportedly handed the victim documents about her family, threatening their safety to ensure compliance.

The victim was stripped of her phone and wallet and was driven through several states, including Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Nevada, under continuous threats of violence. Officials reported physical assaults, with one incident involving choking that left visible injuries.

The situation escalated upon reaching San Diego. Investigators found Stuck bound the victim with zip ties and duct tape while holding a knife to her throat, warning her she would not survive to see the next day.

The victim seized an escape opportunity when Stuck was distracted by a food delivery. She made her way to a nearby residence and contacted authorities. Following her escape, she received hospital treatment for her injuries.

Stuck evaded immediate arrest in San Diego. He later tried to deceive the victim into believing he had fled to South America, using various phone numbers to continue his intimidation.

Returning to Lee County, the victim informed police after her security camera recorded Stuck attempting to install another tracking device on her vehicle. This prompted law enforcement to launch a vigorous manhunt.

Authorities tracked Stuck to Bonita Springs. He led them on a pursuit but managed to escape temporarily. The chase continued into Collier County, where he was ultimately captured after abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Marceno describes Stuck as among the most dangerous individuals his office has encountered, noting his extensive criminal history, including armed robbery and arson.

Additional charges may be pursued in the future as investigations continue across multiple states. “The world’s a better place when he’s off the streets,” Marceno concluded.
