Trump emphasized his personal commitment, saying, “I don’t need this, I got elected, what the hell do I have to be here for? I’m doing this because I like the farmer.” He acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by farmers due to tariffs and fuel prices.
The visit is part of an effort to secure support as midterm elections near, especially in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District, where the competition is intense. Trump’s administration has made efforts to show solidarity, reflected in multiple officials visiting the area recently, including Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
