President Trump visited Wisconsin to reassure farmers affected by tariff policies and rising fuel prices due to the conflict in Iran. Speaking in Wisconsin’s western region, known for its beef, dairy, and crop farms, Trump aimed to support Rep. Derrick Van Orden, a Republican seeking re-election in a competitive district.
At the event, Trump promised a swift resolution to the conflict in Iran and showcased Washington development projects. He engaged with locals, listening to praises and expressing his dedication to farmers. Despite unfavorable weather, many gathered to hear him.
Trump emphasized his personal commitment, saying, “I don’t need this, I got elected, what the hell do I have to be here for? I’m doing this because I like the farmer.” He acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by farmers due to tariffs and fuel prices.
The visit is part of an effort to secure support as midterm elections near, especially in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District, where the competition is intense. Trump’s administration has made efforts to show solidarity, reflected in multiple officials visiting the area recently, including Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
