Chipotle is marking the beginning of the summer’s FIFA World Cup soccer tournament with a special promotion that could offer fans a free meal. The fast-casual chain introduced its inaugural “Matchday BOGO” deal, providing a buy-one-get-one-free entrée to customers who arrive at participating locations dressed in a soccer jersey on June 11. This promotion aligns with the start of the international men’s soccer tournament and is accessible at numerous Chipotle branches worldwide.
Details of the June 11 Chipotle BOGO Deal
On June 11, Chipotle offers customers a free entrée with the purchase of another entrée of equal or higher value. Known as a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deal, it is available exclusively on Thursday, June 11, starting at 3 p.m. local time. To redeem the offer, it must be done in person at participating restaurants with the customer wearing a soccer jersey.
According to a Chipotle spokesperson, the Matchday BOGO operates from 3 p.m. until closing at all Chipotle restaurants in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, and Germany. The promotion limits include a maximum of five free entrées per transaction and cannot be combined with other deals or used for online or delivery orders.
Eligibility for Chipotle BOGO
The requirements are simple: any customer wearing a soccer jersey at participating locations can benefit from the deal. The promotion welcomes all customers visiting participating restaurants in person. Each free entrée must correspond with a qualifying purchase and must be claimed by the customer in the jersey.
Included Food Items
The deal covers Chipotle entrées, typically including options like burritos, bowls, tacos, and salads. Each complimentary item should accompany another purchased entrée of equal or higher value as per the company’s policy. Kids’ meals do not qualify for this promotion, and the deal cannot be availed for catering, mobile, online, or delivery orders, nor combined with other discounts.
In addition to the one-day promotion, Chipotle is launching a limited-edition soccer jersey related to the campaign. Only 53 jerseys will be available, unsold in stores but offered through the company’s Rewards Exchange program. From June 10 to June 24, Chipotle Rewards members can enter to win one by using rewards points—usually 10 points per entry. The jersey displays “Real Chipotle” on the front and the number 53 on the back, signifying the brand’s ingredients.
Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, stated, “Every four years, this tournament generates an unmatched sense of excitement, pride, and community among fans worldwide. We wanted to commemorate the traditions that make the experience so memorable, from donning lucky jerseys to gathering for matchday meals with Chipotle.”
FIFA World Cup Start Details
The World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, begins on June 11, with initial matches scheduled across various cities. Reports indicate that opening games include Mexico vs. South Africa in Mexico City and South Korea vs. Czechia in Guadalajara.
Details about broadcasting and streaming differ depending on the region and network rights. However, matches generally air on major television partners and affiliated streaming platforms in the U.S., allowing fans to view them live on TV or online.
