Chicago police successfully concluded a prolonged standoff in Logan Square involving an individual barricaded inside a residence. The standoff commenced on Monday afternoon and extended into the early hours of Tuesday. The police department’s SWAT team responded to the situation on the 3400 block of West Wrightwood Avenue following an emergency call received shortly before noon on Monday.

This location is notable as it is the same block where former Mayor Lori Lightfoot resides. However, her spokesperson confirmed that she is unharmed, and the incident does not involve her. Additionally, there have been no reports of injuries on the block related to the event.

Eyewitnesses informed the Tribune that officers repeatedly called out to a man residing in the implicated building, instructing him to surrender a rifle by dropping it from a window.
