Prince William’s commitment to a stringent ‘zero tolerance’ policy concerning any royal connection with Jeffrey Epstein faces scrutiny due to the recent release of emails involving Sarah Ferguson. These emails have led experts to assert that Ferguson is now considered ‘unfit for any royal proximity.’
The resurfacing of an email, part of a large trove of documents made public by the Department of Justice (DOJ), features Ferguson’s crude remark about her daughter, who was 19 at the time. This revelation comes from over 3 million records related to Epstein, which include personal correspondences, though presence in these files does not automatically indicate culpability.
“This new revelation most certainly seals the end of any likelihood of any royal acceptance of either Sarah or Andrew,” Hilary Fordwich shared with Fox News Digital, adding that Prince William is “beyond disgusted.” “They are totally unfit for any royal proximity. Now Sarah can’t ever claim she was naïve, detached or unaware of reputational risk; it totally sinks her.”
In one of the emails dated March 2010, Epstein inquired about a possible visit to New York by Ferguson. She replied, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!” This email highlights Ferguson’s casual and intimate tone in correspondence with Epstein, which is further evidence of her close ties, according to Fordwich.
Another email shows Ferguson organizing a lunch with Epstein, stating, “What address shall we come to. It will be myself, Beatrice and Eugenie.” The email, dated in 2009, suggests plans for a lunch meeting in Miami.
Ferguson’s representatives have been contacted for comment on these emails by Fox News Digital. These correspondences from 2009 and 2010 show undeniable ties between Sarah Ferguson and the disgraced financier, Jeffrey Epstein.
“No one with good taste, morals, or judgment would ever have engaged with Epstein,” Fordwich said, emphasizing the disparity between Epstein’s social circles and figures like Prince William and Princess Catherine. “Sarah was in debt due to her prolific spending, being greedy and, with dreadfully poor judgment, she turned to Epstein’s wealth for bailouts… despite his 2008 conviction,” she added, highlighting her apparent disregard for his criminal background.
The Daily Mail has reported that Ferguson reached out to Epstein in 2011, despite having publicly denounced their friendship. During an Evening Standard interview, she expressed ‘deep regret’ and vowed never to associate with Epstein again after his conviction.
In an email following this interview, she described Epstein as a ‘steadfast, generous, and supreme friend,’ which raises questions about her sincerity in cutting ties. A statement to The Guardian from Ferguson’s representatives insists that her public denouncement of Epstein stands firm, stating she was misled by his falsehoods.
The representative noted that when Ferguson learned the breadth of accusations against Epstein, she severed their connection and condemned him publicly, even facing potential legal action for her denunciations.
Commentator Helena Chard indicates the public’s harsh reaction to Ferguson’s alleged interactions with Epstein, noting widespread disappointment and surprise. Ferguson’s interactions seem excessive, especially involving her daughters in such associations.
Royal commentator Meredith Constant suggested that Princess Eugenie, given her involvement with The Anti-Slavery Collective focusing on trafficking issues, might feel compelled to distance herself further from her father to protect her public image and cause.
Although Ferguson and Prince Andrew have been divorced since 1996, their longstanding ties continued to bring scrutiny upon the royal family amidst controversies involving powerful figures like Epstein. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams emphasized their misuse of royal status for personal gain, deepening the family’s ongoing challenges.
