Golf legend Tiger Woods is scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing in Florida following his arrest for driving under the influence. His return to court comes after he was found possessing hydrocodone pills during a car crash, marking his second DUI in under ten years. Woods has admitted to undergoing seven back surgeries and over 20 operations on his leg, which have led him to take prescription medications.
The arrest report indicates deputies from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office noted several signs of impairment. Woods was observed sweating heavily and moving sluggishly. Law enforcement conducted field sobriety tests, further suspecting impairment. During the tests, Woods’ eyes appeared bloodshot, glassy, and extremely dilated.
Since the arrest, Woods has announced that he is pursuing treatment. His former wife, Elin Nordegren, expressed concern following the incident. Woods’ arrest occurred after a period of media avoidance, following public attention sparked by his previous infidelity and subsequent divorce from Nordegren.
In a separate development, the Woods family came together to celebrate Charlie Woods’ commitment to play golf at Florida State University. The event was a rare public occasion, attended by both Tiger Woods and Nordegren. Charlie, son of the 15-time major winner, announced his decision in February and expressed enthusiasm about joining Florida State’s golf team.
Despite his legal issues, Woods continues to support his son’s endeavors. At the signing ceremony held at Benjamin High School, Woods expressed pride in Charlie’s achievements. The family, including coaches and friends, posed for photos to commemorate the event.
Tiger Woods’ return to competitive golf remains uncertain. Since his March arrest, he has not participated in any tournaments, missing the entire 2026 season.
