Baron Corbin has successfully marked his comeback in WWE. A few weeks ago, he announced his ambition to target Trick Williams and the United States Championship. On Sunday night at SummerSlam, Corbin seized the opportunity presented by a distracted Williams to win the title once more.
Pro Wrestling Victory
Corbin celebrated his victory after reclaiming the United States Championship at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on August 2, 2026. Williams began the match accompanied by his valet, rapper Lil Yachty. While Yachty usually aids Williams, he inadvertently played against him this time.
During the match, Yachty threatened Corbin with the “Trick Stick,” diverting Corbin’s attention to Williams. Later, Yachty’s interference on the apron backfired as Corbin managed to knock Williams into Yachty, causing him to fall through a table. With Williams and the referee distracted, Corbin used the championship belt to strike Williams.
Corbin followed up by executing his signature “End of Days” move on Williams, securing a pinfall victory and his second reign as U.S. champion. His first title win was in 2017.
Corbin’s Journey and Williams’ Title Loss
After leaving WWE in 2024, Corbin found success on the independent circuit, becoming a tag team champion with Donovan Dijak in Major League Wrestling. He decided to return to WWE shortly before reclaiming the championship.
Williams’ tenure as U.S. champion lasted 105 days. He had won the title against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
