Under normal circumstances, this would trigger a suspension for one game according to WNBA rules. However, the WNBA swiftly rescinded the foul, allowing Clark to participate in the Fever’s upcoming game. Clark expressed relief to the media after the game, stating she hoped the decision would be made since the action “wasn’t intentional.”
The incident occurred in the third quarter when Clark accidentally bumped into a referee. Despite the technical foul, the Fever emerged victorious, securing a 90-86 win against the Sky on their home turf.
In addition to the technical foul drama, Clark and her teammate achieved a significant milestone. Clark concluded the game with an impressive 26 points, four rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, and one block. Her teammate, Kelsey Mitchell, contributed 27 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.
These performances allowed Clark and Mitchell to tie the record for the second-most 25-point games by a duo in WNBA history. This marked their eighth occasion scoring at least 25 points in a single game together. Over their last 10 games, the duo has scored a remarkable 516 points combined, setting a new record for the most points scored by any duo in a 10-game series.
