The Kansas City Chiefs encountered their first defeat of the 2026 NFL season, succumbing to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks. The primetime Week 7 game took place at Lumen Field.
The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, managed only a field goal in their 20-3 loss. This marked a stark contrast to their previous five victories. Mahomes recorded a season-low performance with 165 passing yards and one interception. Running back Kenneth Walker III, who has shown exceptional performance this season, was limited to 36 rushing yards.
Offensive Coordinator’s Remarks
Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy didn’t mince words when discussing the team’s performance. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he stated, “We got our [expletive] kicked as a coaching staff, as a team, and as a unit, but we’re onto the Denver Broncos,” reported by team insider Charles Goldman.
Upcoming Game Against Broncos
The Chiefs aim to rebound in their Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos. Earlier this season, in their opener, the Chiefs defeated the Broncos. Mahomes threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns during that game, while Walker impressed with 173 rushing yards and a touchdown.
The rematch is scheduled to start at 4:25 p.m. ET this Sunday.
