Children’s Squeeze Toys Recalled Due to Safety Hazards

Children’s squeeze toys have been recalled due to safety concerns regarding the beads inside them. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of the Squeezy Dumplings from GIHNJSI and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns from OKK Trading.

These products contain water beads that can expand if ingested, posing serious injury risks such as choking and intestinal obstruction. Symptoms could include severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and potentially even death.

The Squeezy Dumplings, sold on Amazon in May and June 2023, feature round, squishy balls with cartoon faces and glitter-like particles. The packaging resembles a bamboo steamer labeled “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.” About 8,000 units are affected.

Approximately 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys, distributed through various U.S. retailers from May to August 2023, have also been recalled. These toys have similar decorative features and packaging labeled “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.”

The CPSC advises marking these toys with “RECALLED” using a permanent marker before disposing of them. Send a photo of the disposed toy to receive a full refund at [email protected] for Squeezy Dumplings or [email protected] for Squishy Buns.

No injuries have been reported related to these toys. However, the CPSC urges consumers to discontinue use of Squishy Bun Toys from Ivyapingdianpu. These toys violate mandatory safety standards, containing similar water beads. Despite a Notice of Violation, the company has not recalled the product or proposed a solution.

These dumpling-shaped toys are marked with “SQUISHY BUN” and “Rainbow MYSTERY” and also should be disposed of promptly. Report any injuries or defects to the CPSC.

Approximately 100 Squishy Bun Toys sold through Amazon and possibly other sellers in June are affected. If your child is injured by these toys or if you detect any defects, report them to CPSC.
