Country Music Star Brian Duckworth Passes Away at 56

Country singer Brian “Nashville” Duckworth has died at the age of 56.

According to an obituary from his family, Duckworth passed away at his home on September 7. Duckworth, part of the band Taylor Made, earned the nickname “Truck Boss” due to his dual career as a devoted dump truck driver for Wolfe’s Excavating. His family noted that Duckworth “truly enjoyed” this job because it provided him with the opportunity to spend his days outdoors.

Music played an important role in Duckworth’s life, and he loved singing while performing with his family band, Taylor Made. Known affectionately as “Nashville,” he never missed a chance to share his singing talent.

Duckworth, alongside his brother Greg and sister Wendy Williams, began performing as the band I-79 in 2008, first at the Colgate Country Showdown. They later changed their band’s name to Taylor Made, gaining popularity with songs like “Things You Don’t Grow Out Of” which reached No. 36 on the Billboard Indicator chart.

He is survived by his wife Tina, with whom he shared nearly 16 years, his six children Zach, Ashton, Logan, Kayla, Michael, and Matt, as well as four grandchildren and five siblings.

The obituary highlighted Duckworth’s love for his family and the invaluable memories he created with them. He also cherished his pets, who provided him with comfort and happiness. Duckworth’s passion for family, music, and the outdoors will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Brianna Duckworth Kazner, his niece, recalled a video from her wedding in which his band performed, noting difficulty believing it was the last time Taylor Made sang together. She fondly remembered growing up watching her dad, Aunt Wendy, and Uncle Brian perform at various fairs and festivals, eventually joining them on stage. Duckworth was a resource for her songwriting, helping her overcome creative blocks.

Recently, Kazner spoke with Duckworth on the phone regarding a song idea he had, expressing that while they often sang together, the times they shared felt insufficient.

Duckworth’s cause of death was not disclosed in the obituary.

He will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Garden on Monday.
