Authorities in Ohio report a tragic incident involving a woman’s death at a recycling facility. On November 3, Billie Jo Douglas, aged 55, was found deceased on a conveyor belt at Kimble Recycling in Twinsburg Township.
Deputies from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after being alerted about a human body discovered during the processing of recyclable materials. Billie Jo Douglas was pronounced dead at the scene, and the medical examiner confirmed her identity the following day.
An autopsy has been completed. However, the cause and manner of death remain pending, as per the medical examiner’s statement. Efforts to contact Kimble Recycling have been unsuccessful.
Brooke Harris, daughter of the victim, shared insights with CBS affiliate WOIO about her mother’s circumstances. Harris mentioned that Douglas was homeless at the time of her death. Harris attempted to provide her mother shelter without success.
“My mom was a very good woman,” Harris expressed. “She cared for everybody. She helped everyone after her parents died.” Harris also shared feelings of guilt. She regrets not giving her mother a hug when she last saw her two days before the tragedy.
Harris suspected her mother had sought refuge in a dumpster for sleep purposes. It could have been emptied into a collection truck before delivery to the recycling plant.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the incident.
