Democratic nominee Graham Platner has withdrawn from the Senate race in Maine. Platner recently faced mounting pressure to leave the race following allegations of sexual assault made by a former partner. Another ex-girlfriend accused him of removing protection without consent during intercourse.
With Platner’s exit, the Maine Democratic Party is tasked with selecting a new candidate. They have until July 27 to make their decision and finalize a replacement on the ballot.
