Jane Seymour on Fitness, Friendship, and Life at 75

1 month ago 0

Jane Seymour, at 75, credits a fitness routine centered on movement, moderation, and self-awareness for keeping her energized. Her approach steers clear of yoga due to her competitive nature, joking that she’d try to surpass everyone in class.

She told Fox News Digital, “For fitness, I combine light weights, walking, especially fast walking, and hill climbing. Pilates and Gyrotonics are part of my regimen, but if I can’t do them, I opt for sit-ups and ballet exercises.”

Simple, Effective Routine

The “Harry Wild” star discusses her ballet-based fitness routine and preference for a Mediterranean diet. She includes lots of vegetables while consuming starches sparingly, not wanting to feel restricted by an actual diet.

Seymour avoids alcohol while filming and credits listening to her body’s limits as essential to her active lifestyle. “It’s not about doing every trendy workout, it’s about knowing my limits,” Seymour emphasizes.

Avoiding Competitive Yoga

She shares that in group classes, especially yoga, she must remind herself that there’s no need to “win.” Her “A-type” personality pushes her beyond limits, leading to potential harm. Instead, she tries everything in a manner that suits her body.

This attitude fuels Seymour’s boundless energy, noticed by Joe Lando, her longstanding friend and “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” co-star. The duo reunites in Season 5 of “Harry Wild,” bringing fresh mysteries and challenges to Acorn TV.

“Jane’s inexhaustible energy reminds me of the Energizer Bunny,” Lando comments, recalling Seymour’s resilience during long filming days while pregnant with twins.

Enduring Friendship

Seymour’s connection with Lando remains strong after many years. Their friendship survived Hollywood’s challenges, nurtured during the seven seasons of “Dr. Quinn.” “We fell for each other early on during the pilot,” Seymour reflects, emphasizing their deep understanding.

Now, as friends rather than romantic partners, Seymour and Lando’s on-screen chemistry continues to resonate with audiences. Seymour’s energy, unwavering since her “Dr. Quinn” days, shines brightly in “Harry Wild.”

Seymour attributes her vigor to loving her work. “I love what I do,” she says simply, sharing her secret to sustained energy.

Season 5 of “Harry Wild” streams exclusively on Acorn TV, showcasing Seymour’s remarkable passion and vitality.
