Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The music icon’s performance was announced during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game.

In a statement, Jay-Z emphasized the significance of his journey. “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” the rapper shared. He highlighted three decades of contributions to music and culture, expressing the continuation of a lifelong dream.

“I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity, and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.” – Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner

The selection of Jay-Z over other contenders, such as Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, reflects his prominent status in the music industry. Reports indicated Harry Styles was another potential performer.

Jay-Z and Roc Nation have been involved in producing the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019. Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, acknowledged the profound impact Jay-Z has had on the event, fulfilling Goodell’s request for the artist to take the stage.

The Super Bowl will mark a return to SoFi Stadium for Jay-Z, a venue he concluded his Jay-Z 30 Tour with performances in October. This tour celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. Notably, his shows at Yankee Stadium achieved significant financial success, grossing over $42 million.

Achieving incredible milestones, Jay-Z has earned 25 Grammy Awards and bears the title of the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His last studio album, 4:44, was released in 2017.

Though Jay-Z has never performed at the Super Bowl, his wife, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, previously headlined the show in 2013 and joined Coldplay in 2016 in Santa Clara.
