44 minutes ago 0

Kelani Jordan finally reached the pinnacle of the WWE NXT women’s division. On Sunday night, she claimed victory. Jordan defeated Kendal Grey in an outstanding match to win the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave.

During the event, Jordan’s determination was on full display. She had previously missed bigger opportunities, but this time she seized the moment. She executed a perfect move, pushing Grey into the turnbuckle while Grey was on the apron. Grey’s own momentum brought her back into the ring, setting Jordan up for a flawless split-legged moonsault. Jordan’s pin secured her status as the new champion.

Grey put forth a strong effort to retain her title, attempting several times to defeat Jordan. She delivered an impactful avalanche reverse Spanish Fly. At one point, Grey had Jordan on the ropes, executing a knee strike. Despite these efforts, Jordan’s resilience proved too strong.

Jordan’s perseverance played a key role in her victory, marking her first reign as NXT Women’s Champion. Although she has held singles titles before, this was a significant accomplishment. She previously became the first NXT Women’s North American Champion and held the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts Championship for a brief period.

Jordan maintained the NXT Women’s North American Championship until she lost it in a gauntlet match to Fallon Henley at Halloween Havoc 2024. Her TNA Knockouts title reign ended at NXT Gold Rush in November when she faced Lei Ying Lee in a triple-threat match.

Throughout her journey, facing opponents one-on-one has been crucial for Jordan. Leveraging her gymnastics background allowed her to outmaneuver Grey’s wrestling skills and secure the win.
