Las Vegas Aces Secure Victory Over Toronto Tempo

On August 23, 2026, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Toronto Tempo with a score of 88-78 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. A’ja Wilson led the Aces by contributing 27 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

The Toronto Tempo had recently broken a 12-game losing streak by defeating Portland 82-79. This match against Las Vegas marked their second consecutive home game played in front of 15,877 fans.

Jackie Young also provided a strong performance for the Aces by scoring 21 points. The Aces, with a record of 26-13, are closing in on second-place Golden State in the WNBA standings.

For the Toronto Tempo, Kia Nurse was the leading scorer with 19 points. Kiki Rice and Temi Fagbenle supported with 14 and 13 points respectively.

During the second quarter, NaLyssa Smith extended the Aces’ lead to 10 points with a layup. Toronto responded with a 6-0 run, ending the half at 43-39. Isabelle Harrison added to the Tempo’s effort, reducing the gap to two points early in the third quarter. However, the Tempo could not overtake the Aces.

The Tempo faced the challenge of missing several key players. All-Star Marina Mabrey, Brittney Sykes, Nyara Sabally, Maria Conde, and Aneesah Morrow were on the injury list. Sykes and Morrow, injured during the game against Portland, will not return for the rest of the season. Coach Sandy Brondello mentioned that Mabrey’s situation will be reassessed in a few weeks.
