First lady Melania Trump returned to the White House Rose Garden, capturing attention with a playful message. “I heard you missed me. Here I am,” she said, prompting laughter from the crowd, including President Donald Trump. Standing in front of American flags, she wore a sky-blue Michael Kors shirt, a red Dior pencil skirt, and red Manolo Blahnik pumps, complementing the patriotic setting.

Announcing the Freedom 250 Grand Prix

Beside her sat an IndyCar in red, white, and blue, branded with her “BE BEST” and Fostering the Future initiatives. “Look at this incredible race car,” she remarked, calling it “gorgeous and powerful.” This was part of the buildup to the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, where cars would race through Washington, D.C., for America’s 250th birthday. IndyCar champions like Scott Dixon and Alexander Rossi joined the announcement.

Supporting Youth Transition from Foster Care

The Rose Garden event focused on expanding her Fostering the Future initiative, aimed at assisting youth transitioning from foster care. Melania Trump highlighted the importance of investing in children, announcing $2 million in scholarships from Fox Corporation and IndyCar to Indiana University and Purdue University. Her initiative now connects with 26 colleges nationwide.

She shared the success of a scholarship recipient who became the program’s first doctor, emphasizing the long-term impact these graduates could have by building new companies and launching industries.

During the event, she reiterated her belief that “Education is the one asset that can never be taken away.” According to her, it is essential for building confidence, creating opportunities, and inventing the future.
