President Trump’s Health Report from Walter Reed Medical Checkup

4 weeks ago 0

President Donald Trump is in excellent health, as stated by the White House physician following his visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This marks his third physical checkup over the last 13 months. Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s physician, confirmed in a memo that the President is fully fit to perform all duties as Commander-in-Chief.

The memo detailed a series of exams Trump undertook, including tests for cardiac function, eye health, and pulmonary function. Most results were normal, with Barbabella noting minor lower leg swelling and hand bruising. He attributed this to frequent handshaking, combined with aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.

Issued three days after the Tuesday exam, the memo also reported Trump’s weight as 238 pounds and resting heart rate at 73 beats per minute. The neurological exam showed his cognitive function within normal limits, scoring 30 out of 30, a result Trump often highlights.

Trump takes medication for cholesterol and cardiac prevention. According to Barbabella, preventive screenings and immunizations are current. Routine cancer screenings, cardiovascular risk assessments, and metabolic evaluations are up to date, within recommended intervals. Preventive counseling included guidance on diet, low-dose aspirin intake, increased physical activity, and weight loss.

Trump has visited Walter Reed twice last year, in April and October. Additionally, he had dental appointments in Florida in January and May. Approaching his 80th birthday in June, Trump is the oldest person to start a presidency. He consistently states his excellent health, reiterating this following his recent Walter Reed visit.

On Truth Social, Trump posted, “Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff!”

Despite this, speculation about Trump’s health persists due to apparent drowsiness and bruising on his right hand. The White House attributes the bruising to frequents handshakes and aspirin use as a blood thinner, exceeding his doctors’ recommendations.

Last year, the White House revealed Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a non-life-threatening condition causing poor circulation and leg swelling. In October, after his second visit to Walter Reed within six months, the President disclosed undergoing an MRI. His doctor clarified it was a CT scan of his heart and abdomen to rule out cardiovascular issues.

Dr. Barbabella explained the scan was conducted “to maximize the President’s time at the hospital” and that advanced imaging was suggested by Trump’s doctors. The post-examination report confirmed the imaging was normal, showing no abnormalities, a statement Barbabella also made following Trump’s April 2025 visit.

Overall, Dr. Barbabella maintains Trump remains in excellent health, with strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical functions.
