Search Continues for Missing Giraffe in Texas

6 hours ago 0

Gracie, a giraffe with a neck comparable to an adult human and equally long legs, is missing from a Texas ranch. Her striking coat makes her unforgettable, and the search for her is ongoing.

The property manager stated the search would continue after a recent lead failed to locate her. The giraffe vanished from Cedar Hollow Ranch, about 100 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Cedar Hollow Ranch hosts diverse wildlife including impalas, Nubian ibexes, and antelopes native to Central Africa. Gracie’s owner is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to her safe return.

Vick Jones, the ranch manager, noted Gracie is between 3 and 4 years old and has been at the ranch since May. She was last captured on a game camera west of Leakey.

“The search will continue until we get her home,” said Jones. “Everybody in the whole world seems to be looking for her.”

Gracie disappeared after feeding on a hillside unexplored by other giraffes. She found an unfenced area, moved beyond the ranch’s 8-foot gate, and left the premises. Jones followed a tip about photos from a site 4 miles away but didn’t find her.
