Suspension Hits New Orleans Saints Rookie Ahead of Season

The New Orleans Saints have been active in enhancing their wide receiver lineup this offseason. They selected Jordyan Tyson as the eighth overall pick in April’s draft. Additionally, they acquired Bryce Lance in the fourth round and Barion Brown in the sixth round. The team also secured undrafted free agent Brock Rechsteiner, who is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.

However, shortly after the start of training camp, the Saints announced the departure of one of their new receivers from upcoming games. The NFL has suspended Rechsteiner for the first six games of the 2026 season, as indicated by the league’s transaction wire. The specific reason for his suspension is currently undisclosed.

Rechsteiner, at 23, had an impressive stint at Jacksonville State. During his time there, he made 53 receptions, covering 629 yards, and scored seven touchdowns over 23 games. Although suspended, he remains eligible to practice with the Saints and can participate in preseason games. His suspension will officially begin once the New Orleans roster is trimmed to 53 players on August 30.

Football isn’t a new venture for the Rechsteiner family. Brock’s cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner—better known as Bron Breakker in WWE—also ventured into the NFL in 2020. He joined the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted fullback but was released within a few months.

Brock has expressed interest in following his family’s footsteps in professional wrestling, aspiring to succeed like his cousin, father, and uncle Rick Steiner. The Steiner Brothers were honored with induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.
