Taylor Swift is making headlines with her recent activities, including her marriage to Travis Kelce and her involvement in Toy Story 5. On social media, Swift expressed her enthusiasm, mentioning her long-time love for the Toy Story franchise since she was five years old.
Her excitement was evident as she attended the premiere of the movie on Tuesday, June 9. Swift brought her original VHS tape of the first Toy Story film, showcasing her enduring affection for the series. She even requested Tom Hanks, a star of the movie, to autograph the tape. Hanks gladly accepted and humorously remarked in an interview with USA Today that Swift should have brought her VHS player for signing as well, joking it could belong in the Smithsonian Institute.
In a separate interview with Variety, Hanks disclosed his surprise at Swift’s involvement in the soundtrack of the film. He recounted that the surprise was unveiled in a soundproof room where the team revealed Swift’s song during the end credits. Until that moment, they had inserted a placeholder song in its place. Discovering Swift’s participation was equally surprising for the cast.
Hanks compared Swift’s contribution to Judy Garland singing “Over the Rainbow,” highlighting the significance of her involvement. Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19, and the anticipation surrounding the film continues to grow.
