Thousands of beer cans scattered across a Connecticut road on Tuesday following an accident involving a tractor-trailer. The incident led to the highway’s closure for several hours.
Accident Details
The accident occurred at approximately 5:39 a.m. on Route 44 near Twin Lakes Road in Salisbury. According to the Connecticut State Police, the tractor-trailer lost control, veered off the road, and overturned. This caused significant damage to the vehicle and resulted in its cargo of beer spilling onto the road.
Response and Cleanup
The state police shared images showing the overturned tractor-trailer with cans of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light scattered around. Crews worked for several hours to clear the highway of debris and remove the overturned truck. During this time, authorities thanked motorists for their patience and encouraged them to find alternative routes.
Local firefighters, EMS teams, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Department of Consumer Protection, and towing services contributed to the cleanup efforts.
