Two men passed away within a 24-hour period at the renowned Burning Man festival, as thousands flocked to the Nevada desert for the final days of the event.
Details of the Incidents
The first tragedy involved a man in his mid-50s, who faced a medical emergency on Friday. According to the Burning Man Project, he received immediate medical assistance and was taken to the festival’s emergency care center. Sadly, he was pronounced dead there. His name remains confidential until his family is informed.
Craigh Mann, a 60-year-old attendee, was the second individual who died. He was discovered lifeless by campmates in Black Rock City on Saturday, as noted by festival organizers.

The Burning Man Project expressed condolences, emphasizing their commitment to community safety and well-being. Their statement conveyed sympathy for Mann’s family and friends during this challenging time.
“Burning Man Project is saddened to share that a second Black Rock City participant, Craigh Mann, a 60-year-old man, was found deceased by campmates in his camp,” organizers said in a statement.
Support services were made available continuously for those at the festival site, addressing emotional and practical needs related to these incidents.

The Burning Man festival, which started on August 30, was slated to finish on Monday. Known for the burning of a grand wooden effigy, the event attracts approximately 80,000 participants, known as “burners.” Black Rock City forms a temporary community that hosts this expansive gathering each year.
