Negotiations Over Todd Blanche’s Attorney General Confirmation

Todd Blanche, in talks with Republican senators, withdrew a proposed $1.8 billion fund aimed at compensating President Trump’s political supporters. Despite this, an audit immunity plan for Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization remains in effect. Adjustments were made to this plan to address senators’ concerns, yet it could still potentially eliminate millions in Trump’s unpaid taxes.

Trump criticized U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s decision to drop charges against a former Olympian accused of vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Pirro’s move marked a significant setback for the Justice Department during Trump’s second term.

U.S.-Iran Relations: Final Opportunity for Negotiations

Trump emphasized the importance of ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran, labeling them as the “last chance” for Iran to reach a deal and avoid increased U.S. military strikes. Discussions aim to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and establish ways for Iran to address U.S. nuclear concerns. Trump indicated updates on the negotiation status might be forthcoming.

Lawsuit Filed Against New Tariffs

Twenty-five states launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration’s latest tariffs, claiming they served as a substitute for prior import taxes disallowed by the Supreme Court. These tariffs were applied during the expiry of temporary measures Trump had initiated.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, along with other state representatives, criticized the administration’s attempt to raise taxes unlawfully. The lawsuit’s participants include Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Bank Account Closures Linked to Trump’s Financial Activities
