2 weeks ago 0

While Week 8 of the college football season did not mirror the chaos of the previous week, it still provided noteworthy upsets. Three Top 10 teams faced road losses, causing significant changes in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

One of the most dramatic drops belonged to the BYU Cougars. After a double-overtime defeat against UCF, they fell six spots to No. 8. Conversely, the Texas Longhorns achieved the largest jump, moving up eight places to No. 11 following their 34-27 victory over Ole Miss.

Miami maintained its hold on the No. 1 spot for the second week in a row. Interestingly, every team in the Top 20, except Miami, saw a shift in ranking. Accompanying the Miami Hurricanes mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, the team maintained dominance, leading them onto the field in their recent game against the University of Pittsburgh.

Utah gained one first-place vote in Week 8, while Ohio State obtained 10, with 59 going to the Hurricanes. Meanwhile, both the Big Ten and the SEC have three teams each in the current Top 10. Surprisingly, UCLA and Kentucky secured spots at No. 7 and No. 9, with only five weeks left in the season.

Halloween weekend promises thrilling matchups, with No. 3 Georgia facing No. 17 Florida in Atlanta. Additional games include No. 13 Texas Tech against No. 22 Arizona, No. 25 Wisconsin traveling to Iowa, and a distinctive Notre Dame versus Navy game in New England.
